I was once the proud owner of a 2009 Mazda Tribute, bought in mid July of last Year. Last weekend I took the car in for it;s scheduled oil change. What was supposed to be a routine oil change has now turned into one week and counting of delays in repairs to my car.
While sitting comfortably in the service waiting room, the service technician came out and informed me that they have discovered along the front axle of the vehicle...this oil was emanating from the wheel base. He could've said other stuff but honestly how could I concentrate when the words oil and leak was uttered in association with my new car. In any case, I was told that the problem would not be fix until at least Monday of the following week.
On Monday morning I convinced my girl freind to lend me her car for the day, assuring her that it was a one time thing and I would be back in my truck by evening. After work I started making my way back to the dealership when I noticed that they were calling me. Being the law abiding citizen that I am, I ignored the call (I don't have hands free and as you may know, it's now the law in Ontario). Upon arrival at the dealership, my friendly service technician told me that my new Mazda's problem was so severe that it would probably be several weeks before it could be fixed. Again, he may have said more stuff but who knows?
He was busy filling out the paperwork for a rental...a Toyota no less. Things have suddenly gone from bad to worse. As of today, my car is still sitting on the lot waiting for a part to arrive from parts unknown.
I have no confidence in the Toyota that I'm now forced to drive and after all of this I wonder how much confidence I will have in my Mazda.
